Please be aware that we cannot guarantee the sincerity or truth in any of these prisoners. As with anything you should use common sense and your intuition to guide you. Don't stop at that, we urge you to seek out the prisoner on the State Department of Corrections. Some of them have Offender Search Systems where you can find out more specifically the crimes and nature of the prisoner. We would be fools to think that all prisoners are nice, honest, upstanding citizens. Be cautious. If you feel hesitant then get a P.O. Box and use it to correspond with your new pen pal.

Another concern is being "used". Do not allow yourself to be. Make sound decisions about things like what to send the prisoner. If he begins to ask for money all the time or other material things than be leery of this. We are not promoting a site which would entertain the thought of enabling a criminal to continue to victimize people, but rather we are promoting a site which will enable men and women in prison a link they desperately need to the outside world.

Again, make safe choices. Do not do something that doesn't "feel" or "seem" right.

We the website will not be held responsible for any misfortunes, mishaps or anything else that has gone wrong as a result of writing and inmate on this site. By writing to them you are doing so of your own free will and at your own discretion. We cannot verify every prisoners integrity.

If is an illegal act to solicit or actively pursue our members for the sole purpose of solicitation.  Legal action will be brought against anyone caught soliciting our members.  If you wish to solicit or contact our members, you must notify our office and if permission is granted, you will be given a list of members whom have requested that such activity is acceptable.

*Note for other pen pal webmasters* If you see an inmate on our site that you have on yours and feel there is a conflict of interest or believe it to have been copied from your site please do not hesitate to contact me personally. I receive all the inmates per themselves and through their friends. If this is not the case, do not hesitate to let me know. This site is non-profit and so it does not behoove me to steal inmates off other sites as I am inundated with questionnaires to upload as it is and each person that joins is more postage I pay for.

In our constant effort to connect our prisoners with pen pals we have decided to make e-mail available as a way to communicate with the prisoners. Now you can e-mail any of the prisoners by clicking on the e-mail link at the bottom of their personal ad. These will be printed and forwarded to the inmates. 

We encourage you to write as many people as you wish.  We will mail out one request per person per member.  If this is the case please remember to include your full name and street mailing address so that the inmate can respond. Since this is a non-profit organization we must do this to save time and money.  Printed letters are sent out once a month on the 16th of each month.

**Please note that prisoners cannot respond to e-mail via computer so if you want a response you must include your name and street address.**

**Because of the recent upkeep and cost expenses, we must limit multiple inmate emails to ONE.  Anymore after that must be mailed directly. We apologize for this change.  That is ONE email per request per person.  We no longer can afford multiple emails. **
